Gear
Keyboard: Halcyon Elora
For more keyboards, see the timeline.
A modular split keyboard with MX or Choc support and a number row—both must-haves for me. I came from a Glove80 (great for ergonomics, but missed the MX feel) and wanted more control over switches and keycaps.
Build:
- MX PCB
- FR backplate (Brass backplate is on its way)
- Black casing
- Blue isolation foam
- Pre-ordered: OLED screen modules
Switches: Keygeek Y2 linear
Keycaps: Klein Blue (AliExpress)
Mouse: Keychron M5
Since I’m already on the track of trying to be ergonomic, I am using the following mice:
- Daily desk usage: Keychron M5 mouse.
- Carrying: Keychron M6 mouse.
Headphones: Sennheiser HDB630
Beforehand I made use of the HiFiMan Edition XS, it is great- but it is such a loose fit, that for daily use it gets quite uncomfortable. I really wanted something that I could wear all day, listen to good quality music, and even have the ability to use it when omw to a client.
The HDB630 headphones are great, the quality is amazing and it feels almost feels illegal, how good wireless headphones can be. Although the price does hit, I can highly recommend it.
Monitor: Gigabyte M32U
At the moment, I’m enjoying a 32-inch 4k monitor with a refresh rate of *144hz.
*This monitor is enough for me, since it provides enough space to work in and allows having an ‘instant’ feeling because of the 144hz.
Laptop: MacBook
For work, I make use of a MacBook Pro M1 Pro-series. It has the following specs:
- Chip: Apple M1 Pro
- Memory: 32 GB
- Storage: 1TB
PC: High-End PC
When I don’t use the MacBook, I make use of the PC. It is coming to a point, where I don’t make use of the PC anymore — and it is now just catching dust.
But the specifications for this are:
- GPU: AMD Radeon 6900XT
- CPU: Intel i9 9900KF
- Memory: 64 GB 3200 DDR4 Corsair Vengeance
- PSU: 1200W Be Quiet! Platinum
- Fans: A lot of, Be Quiet! Fans
- CPU Cooler: Water cooled
- Case: Be Quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 rev. 2
- OS: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
